Retention

When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The doctor-monitored portion of the retention stage lasts for a minimum of 12 months. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through in order to preserve the hard work you’ve put into your smile. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.  Finally, to keep your retainers safe and working for you, remember that retainers are either in your face (mouth) or in their case!

Below you will see some examples of Hawley type retainers.  They come in a variety of colors, including sparkles and glow-in-the-dark varieties.  In addition to Hawley retainers we also have clear retainers that are virtually invisible and can double as bleaching trays to whiten your teeth after your braces are removed.
